Temperate regions such as the coastal areas of the continental U.S. tend to be spared the climatic extremes that characterize cold regions. Nevertheless, challenging coastal design conditions can result from factors that include tropical and extratropical cyclones, rising water levels, tsunamis, and sediment deprivation. As our corporate headquarters is located in Southern California, we have performed a large number of projects on the California coast. We also have worked at temperate sites that range from Rhode Island and the Pacific Coast of Mexico to Trinidad and the Mediterranean Sea.
